Experiential Learning

it’s a learning process initiated by a concrete experience, which demands reflection, review and perspective-taking about the experience; then abstract thinking to reach conclusions and conceptualize the meaning of the experience; leading to a decision to act, engaging in active experimentation or trying out what you’ve learned. This cycle is so natural and organic that people engage in it without being aware that they are learning. It happens almost effortlessly all the time and is constantly transforming our lives. Most people have preferences for the way they use this learning cycle, focusing on some modes more than others.

Life Skills BUILDING CONFIDENCE- Schools and teachers play an important role in nurturing a child’s self-esteem which in turn builds confidence in the child. We have a number of programs designed to create an environment to allow even children with low confidence to bloom. We provide them with opportunities to push them out of their immediate comfort zone and learn skills which will help them thrive as they walk out of the gates of Gitanjali International into the world outside. Assembly In accordance with our ‘No Child Left Behind’ policy, the special assembly presentations are a joy to behold with every child in a class participating. The teacher’s creativity comes to the fore when she plans for themes like Water, The Army, Music, Books and many more. Students speak, dance, act and mime for a presentation. Planning and practice begins more than a month ahead of the D-day. Parents are invited to witness the presentations and invariably, one sees proud, ecstatic parents going back! QCT Quality Circle Time is a compulsory part of the curriculum for Grades I-V. It is the right blend of structure, enjoyment and learning. It has helped in improving listening, communication, social skills, problem-solving and other social and emotional competencies. The basic idea is to implement a positive approach towards learning as well as behaviour and activities are designed to enhance self-esteem in children leading to a positive school ethos. Special activities Life will be boring if there is no fun and the fun can be constructive, teaching learners skills that are needed for lifelong learning. Every Thursday, we have activities especially designed to meet the needs of 21st-century learners. These activities are well-designed to cater to building a plethora of skills like team building, problem-solving, alternate / lateral thinking and so on. Mentioned below are some activities and their benefits: -Debate on Gender Bias This helps build a healthy and modern outlook and rise above negative influences. -Reflective dialogue on leadership skills using clippings This helps build debating skills and communication skills along with making them good listeners too. -How to be safe – teachers conduct a well – researched presentation This is very important in increasing their safety quotient and also stays with them throughout life. Life Skills Life skill classes enable the students to translate knowledge, attitudes and values into actual abilities. Life skills include psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills that help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathize with others, and cope with managing a stressful situation. At Gitanjali International, we do a lot of planning in conducting each activity in line with the above skills. Students are given an opportunity to discuss, debate and think out of the box. We also make the students generate positive and negative examples of each skill. Life skill classes are conducted through class discussions, brainstorming sessions, role plays, group activities, and storytelling sessions. One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because

our Kiddo's

In the initial years, the child’s brain undergoes major development at a rapid pace. Intending to incorporate maximum learning at this stage, we have constructed a unique curriculum for our pre-primary and primary school that is Early Years Program(EYP) students of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, K1, K2, Grade I and Grade II. The tiny tots of our EYP classes hold enormous talent waiting to be sparked through just the right push that they need.
The vibrant learning environment for the EYP children is a mix of several methodologies such as Montessori, Play-way theory etc. These when combined, make their journey a bright and colourful one. We focus on strengthening the foundation of learning by encouraging curiosity and independent thinking in the classrooms. Each child is motivated to ask questions and experience the learning first hand. Our multi-sensory learning approach looks after the overall development of the child. With many more such learning and techniques, we want to become a famous name for primary education in India and a chain of the best primary schools in India.
In our pre-primary school we have a wide range of in-house decodable books namely ‘Sound Cracker’s, where through a creative approach of phonetics, we ensure our students with fluency in reading. The thing that makes us one of the best primary schools in India is that we understand children well. Each alphabet is introduced to the students as a story through visual and audio aids. Similarly, Numeracy is taught with a hands-on learning approach, through creative numeric toys and kits.
