(Functional Life Skills) 

: 

RSU 73 is looking for 2 caring, compassionate, and patient educational technicians III to join the special education functional life skills programs full-time working with students with disabilities in grades 3-5 and 9-12.  Students in our programs have a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.  Successful candidates work with individuals or small groups providing curriculum support, some planning of academic and functional instruction with supervising teacher support, instruction including introduction of new learning, as well as maintain records of student progress with behavior, functional skills, and academics.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, organized and skilled at clear communication.  Some students require personal care needs.  

Qualifications: 

• Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an education technician III through the Maine Department of Education (MDOE).  Please go to for more information. 
• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for the Department of Education.  For more information go to:
• Experience working with children or adults with disabilities is preferred, but not necessary.
