Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Location: Pleasanton, CA (On-site)

Experience Level: 6–10 Years

Job Description:

• Managing and maintaining MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB & Oracle SQL databases.
• Create, configure, and optimize databases of different types in the cloud vs on-premise, making the best and most efficient use of each database.
• Ability to work in a high visibility and critical environment.
• Ensure that the database is adequately backed up so that vital information can be retrieved in case of accidental loss or security breach.
• Strategically plan and implement changes in database operations to ensure data is readily available to end-users.
• Strategically plan and implement zero-downtime changes for Tier-1 databases.
• Migrate databases across cloud providers, across database types (e.g., Oracle SQL to PostgreSQL), and to/from cloud PaaS solutions.
• Provide best practices to development teams for writing efficient and high-performing queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Develop, optimize, and refactor complex stored procedures.
• Provide production support for databases, including on-call responsibilities as needed.

• Experience with database performance optimizations
• Familiarity with managing large databases and implementing partition strategies
