Job Description: Dog Daycare Lead

Position

Overview: The Daycare Lead is a position within the Resort and reports directly to the Supervisors, Resort Manager and General Manager. We believe in the mission of “Pet Lovers Delighting Pet Lovers” and we demonstrate this through being Playful, Passionate, Personal and Professional. A successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year’s professional Animal Care experience. The Daycare lead is a “working position” and they are to perform the same workload as daycare staff. If you have a love of animals and are a dedicated employee looking for supervisory experience, we may have the perfect job for you. Animal experience is required.

Daycare Lead Requirements:

1. Experienced in assessment of dog behavior, must be able to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds.
2. Ability to work independently and lead team efforts.
3. Strong communication and client/employee relations with basic computer skills.
4. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift a minimum of 40 lbs from floor to chest level. Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping.
5. Ability to work in all weather conditions including outside, and in a loud work environment.
6. Must be open to coaching and training team members with a cheerful, friendly, positive team-oriented attitude.
7. Must have a flexible work schedule where you can work during the week, as well as at least 1 weekend day and holiday time frames.

Daycare Lead Daily Responsibilities:

1. Work in conjunction with the team to establish a high-quality daycare program that ensures a variety of innovative activities.
2. Help educate daycare staff about dog behavior, dog aggression, group play, etc.
3. Mentor daycare attendants to help them identify daycare dogs that might benefit from training and other services we provide independent from daycare.
4. Perform behavioral assessments of dogs.
5. Stay current with daycare and training trends and enhance our offerings to clients.
6. Keep inventory of supplies and equipment needed for the daycare program.
7. Monitor guest’s health including eating, drinking and elimination habits. Immediately alert the manager when a guest is ill or concerning behavior is observed.
8. Ensure the facility meets or exceeds our expectations with regards to cleanliness and safety. Clean and sanitize all pet enclosures, exercise yards, and common areas. Mix and use disinfectants and other chemicals safely as instructed.
9. Ability to assist and communicate with all other facility (including kennel, grooming & training) departments.
10. Other duties as assigned.
