Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is searching for a Director of Benefits to join our growing Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall benefits strategy that supports the organization's goals while meeting the needs of its employees. You will work on developing, enhancing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive employee benefits programs. You will be involved in strategic planning, policy development, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions
  • Benefits Strategy and Planning
    • Develop a long-term benefits strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Identify trends, best practices, and emerging benefits offerings to enhance the company's benefits programs.
    • Conduct regular benchmarking analysis to ensure the organization remains competitive in the market to support attraction and retention of key talent.
  • Benefits Program Management
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of all employee benefits programs, such as health and wellness, retirement plans, life insurance, disability coverage, and flexible spending accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to benefits programs, such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA.
    • Collaborate with external benefits providers, brokers, and consultants to negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and optimize service delivery.
  • Policy Development and Communication
    • Develop and maintain benefits policies, procedures, and employee communications materials.
    • Ensure clear and effective communication of benefits programs, including plan details, eligibility requirements, enrollment processes, and any changes or updates.
    • Provide guidance and support to HR and management teams in addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and issues related to benefits.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting employee benefits programs and adjust policies accordingly.
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding benefits administration and reporting.
    • Implement appropriate controls and processes to manage risks associated with benefits programs, including privacy and data security.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage the benefits budget, including forecasting, cost analysis, and expense control.
    • Evaluate the financial impact of benefits programs, monitor trends, and recommend adjustments to ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting the needs of employees.
  • Employee Engagement and Education
    • Develop and execute strategies to promote employee engagement with benefits programs.
    • Plan and coordinate educational sessions, workshops, and resources to help employees understand their benefits options and make informed decisions.
  • Other responsibilities
    • Directly manages the Benefits Manager and provides leadership to entire benefits team
    • Partner with Chief People Officer, Director of Human Resources, and Director of Culture and Talent Development to align all aspects of the employee experience between the people teams; continually enhance and measure, where possible, the employee experience.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and executive leadership, to design and administer competitive benefits packages that attract and retain top talent while promoting employee well-being.
    • Provide insight, flexible, and innovative solutions to help drive performance and business growth.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization to elevate the level of understanding of benefits for internal employees and travelers.
    • Maintain successful relationships with all team members at all levels.
    • Participate on enterprise strategic initiatives, (Thematic Goals and Strategic Operating Objectives), as requested

Work Environment This position operates as a hybrid position and routinely uses standard office equipment. Work environment defined: Local - position has in-office requirements and would require employee to live in the local area Hybrid - position has weekly in-office requirements but ability to work from home as well, would require employee to live in the local area Remote - no in-office requirements, employee would not need to live in the local area Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without accommodation.

Position Type/Expected hours worked This is a full-time position, and standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST (flexible start/end times with manager discretion). Regular and punctual attendance is required Required Education and Experience
  • 10+ years experience working within benefits administration
  • 5+ years previous supervisory/managerial experience
  • Extensive experience in benefits management, with a focus on strategy development and program administration.
  • Experience with self-insured plans
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and COBRA.
  • Excellent understanding of different benefit plan designs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management, negotiation, and contract administration.
  • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen to assess program costs, trends, and ROI.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • BA/BS in Business Administration or Human Resources Management, or equivalent education
  • MBA or processional certification (PHR, CEBS, SHRM-CP, CBP)
  • Experience with Workday.
