Remote PE Licensed Forensic Engineer

Salary up to $180K Depending on Experience (and book of business) | Remote with Site Visits as Needed

Ascot Pierce has partnered with a top-tier forensic engineering firm with a 20+ year track record of delivering exceptional investigative expertise. As the firm continues its growth trajectory, it is seeking experienced Forensic Engineers across multiple disciplines to join its dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

This is a remote position with fieldwork and site inspections as required. The firm is distinguished by its in-house laboratory facilities and commitment to cutting-edge forensic investigations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform root cause analysis and forensic investigations related to structural, mechanical, electrical, or other system failures across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Assess damage, determine cause and origin of incidents, and evaluate design, installation, maintenance, or manufacturing-related issues.
  • Conduct field inspections, collect and document evidence, and apply technical expertise to identify failure modes.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports , expert opinions, and forensic findings.
  • Participate in litigation support including expert witness services , depositions, and courtroom testimony when required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal experts and external stakeholders on complex forensic cases.
  • Stay current with industry standards , building codes , and advances in failure analysis techniques.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant discipline (e.g., Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.) – Required .
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering, with a focus on forensic investigations, failure analysis, or cause and origin evaluations.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical judgment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, especially for expert report writing and testimony .
  • Hands-on experience with field investigations, forensic inspections, or diagnostic testing tools/equipment relevant to your discipline.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and inspections (valid driver’s license required).
  • Passion for investigative work, precision, and delivering impactful engineering solutions.
