Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY)is adding  Physician Assistant - Pediatric Surgery  to the group at  NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.   Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.  The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University  to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.
  • Assists in surgery and performs minor surgical procedures such as suturing and wound care.
  • Direct patient care: assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, patient diagnosis, prescribing medications and treatment.
  • Provides patient education and follow-up, assists in the operation of Outpatient Pediatric Surgical Practice.
  • Ready, willing and able to actively participate in patient resuscitation when indicated.
  • Participates and assists in tasks and generation of metrics to support quality assurance and performance improvement for the Department of General Surgery and the Pediatric Trauma/Surgery Division.

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the NCCPA.
  • Licensed to practice in New York State.
  • DEA prescribing license.
  • ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS certification or eligible to obtain.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $131,127* - $174,836*based on 40-hour work week and years of state licensure. 

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $144,239** - $192,319**,  which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
