Job Description

Position Title : Purchase & SCM Manager

Location – Dalton (Atlanta)

5 days onsite – No hybrid or remote

Must Have

  • Must have team handling experience
  • Must be good at logistics of advanced materials.
  • Must have background of working with custom authorities.
  • The candidate must be from a chemical industry and has a good understanding of chemical products.

Job Responsibilities :

1. Shapes the Supply Chain to contribute to the success of the business and execute on supply chain strategy

2. Collaborates with the Business Global Supply Chain team to set inventory strategies and targets for assigned plants/warehouses

3. Implement and support business sustainability goals

4. Provide annual budget forecast for the department and market intelligence on future developments and opportunities.

5. Identify potential threats and opportunities and to develop new and alternative sources of supply

6. Ensure sales and marketing are fully aware of market prices and trends for raw materials and the fundamentals behind these markets

7. Responsible for the development and implementation of effective purchasing procedures and processes to ensure best practice and operational efficiency to improve responsiveness and reduce overall costs whilst adhering to QA & SHE requirements

8. For key materials this will involve obtaining approval for a number of suppliers to allow dual or multiple sourcing as per the purchasing strategy

9. Negotiation of longer-term contracts for key strategic raw materials. Lead or participate in cross company and global sourcing projects to maximize synergies across the business.

10. Develop and manage effective and beneficial supplier relationships using best practices. Ensure supplier performance is monitored. Address areas of concern on a regular basis through effective supplier management and development programs.

11. Significant emphasis will be on quality, cost, and sustainable supply

12. Plan capex items procurement as per project needs and allocated budget

13. Plan logistic and supply chain for capex, maintenance spares items

14. Raw materials, packing material, procurement requirement. Tolling and OPEX procurement requirement. Manage allocated budget for each expense head.

15. Participate in and contribute to the site monthly management meetings and to provide monthly and quarterly reporting on purchasing issues, opportunities, and risks
